Netherlands Code for Good Public Governance

The Netherlands Code for Good Public Governance describes what good public governance means for the executive bodies of individual public administration organisations in the Netherlands, at both central and local level.

The Code does not comprise standards that are legally enforceable. There is already a large body of
legislation and regulations that regulate the actions of the authorities, including the general principles of good governance. The values on which that legislation and those regulations are based are made explicit in this Code. They are the shared values that form the foundation on which public administration operates.
